Mechanical and design drafters and technical engineers use 3D modeling software to create computerized layouts, models and design drafts. These drafts or models will be used to produce or analyze actual structures, products and projects. CADD is extensively used by many industries and companies including automotive, product manufacturing, aerospace, technical manuals, industrial and many more. Skilled drafters are working for architectural firms and property development companies, creating residential layouts, blueprints and commercial building designs. There are also many employment opportunities with civil engineering firms, construction and landscape companies, healthcare facilities and utilities.
Students in YTI's Computer Aided Drafting and Design program train to use AutoCAD software and SolidWorks to create 3D models. Your YTI experience combines qualified instruction with the technical facilities, computer equipment, and tools you'd find on your first day of work.
