In addition, the Student Services Department maintains a list of students by zip code to aid in carpooling efforts. Many students prefer to carpool because they:
- Don't have their own transportation
- Want to save money on gas
- Precautionary - their car may not be reliable for daily commuting
Each year an increasing number of students find that they are no longer covered by their parents' insurance or that higher co-pays and deductibles leave them with much greater out-of-pocket expenses for health care than in the past. To assist students in finding affordable insurance, the MTC offers an Insurance Policy through the Chesapeake Life Insurance Company, administered through First Risk Advisors, Inc.
Group-level dental benefits are available to our students through Dominion Dental Services' eDental program.
We recognize students may face a wide range of life challenges. Therefore, the MTC maintains a contractual relationship with WellSpan Health Services to provide enrolled students with free confidential counseling and support.
Many students who attend MTC need to find affordable child care during school and work times. Our Student Services Department offers assistance to students in helping them locate child care.
Part-time work can help you meet your financial obligations and provide you with valuable work experiences. Our Student Services stay in contact with local companies to keep a current listing of open positions. Some companies offer tuition assistance to part-time employees!
Also, part-time work may be available at the Motorcycle Technology Center or YTI Career Institute through the Federal Work-Study Program. Your Financial Planner can supply details on the program.
